Everything a new engineer needs: getting in, the three worlds, the resource law, storage, ranks — and the answers to the questions everyone asks first.

Join GDC, TRF, DIG or MPE at the in-game Faction screen — or stay independent. There is no changing sides. Full breakdown on the Factions page.
Food & farming are ON. Plan your meals, grow or trade for food, and don't fly hungry. Slots are 10 for now — we grow as the community comes back.
The breadbasket. Basic ores, the calmest sky on the server, protected by the GDC. New-player water — build your first base and your first ship here.
The frontier. Gold, silver and magnesium wealth under red dust. Moderate danger, real money — the Federation's exile home and DIG's richest claims.
Ice, danger, and the two metals that matter most. Highest NPC traffic on the server — and the only place the endgame minerals spawn.
URANIUM and PLATINUM spawn ONLY on Europa. Reactor fuel and jump-drive metal sit behind the front line on purpose. If you want the endgame, you go to Europa — or you buy from someone who did.
Asteroid stone refines to gravel only. Mining happens on planets: freight between worlds, set up outposts, or buy ingots from the factions — DIG sells the full mined catalog. Salvage from wrecks and derelicts is always legal. Meteor ore drops are off.
Every mod on TX247 is data-only or server-side — console players load the same world as PC. They download automatically from mod.io on join.
NPC traffic, patrols and hostiles out in the black. Space is not empty anymore.
Grinders, welders and drills tuned to TX247 ranges.
Quieter tool sounds and tuned weather — the working pilot's sky, softened. The skybox itself flies as TX247 4k Deep Sky.
Our own 4K deep-space skybox: a dense field of fine stars, one faint galactic band, a white sun, and darker light overall — shadows sit deeper and planet nights get properly dark. The black looks like the black.
Safe zones run a 24-hour upkeep cycle instead of vanilla's short one.
Turrets and weapons reach further — railguns out to 5 km, artillery 4 km, assault cannons 3 km — and your manual lock-on reaches 5 km too. Plan your engagement ranges accordingly.
Stone is flavored by world: what your refinery pulls out of plain rock tells you where you are — and Europa's stone carries traces of what everyone is fighting over.
The four Coalition powers — GDC, TRF, DIG and MPE — as real, joinable factions on the Faction screen. Pick a side; there is no changing sides.
TX247's own faction fleets flying MES: GDC patrols and QRF wings, DIG convoys, TRF raiders, MPE pirates — with voices of their own.
A corporate NPC faction with its own ships, stations and reputation. Mind how you treat their traffic.
Surface occupation forces — installations and patrols holding ground on the worlds below.
Terror of the verse. They hunt in packs, they share targets, and they do not stop. If you hear them, run or be ready.
Mercenary NPCs working their own contracts out in the black — traffic with teeth and a reputation ledger.
Ork patrols looking for a proper fight. Under-built ships they ignore; a threat worth fighting, they answer — and they remember where you live.
Max grid size is 130,000 PCU. The full rules apply in full.
The TX247 Director — the system we call the Living Sky — runs the four factions as a living world: radio traffic, answered hails, remembered standing, and traffic control at the stations. And in GDC Protected Space, it answers trouble: start a fight over Earth, or call for help, and the GDC scrambles a quick-reaction wing to you. It runs entirely on the server — console players get the same living sky, and there is nothing to install.
All four factions broadcast in game chat: GDC patrol sweeps, DIG convoy calls, Federation traffic, the Wake saying the quiet part out loud. Listen before you fly — the traffic tells you what kind of sky you're entering.
Type !hail plus a faction — or !announce — in global chat (the full !tx247 hail form works too). Announce yourself to a patrol and you're logged and waved through. Stay silent in protected space and you'll be remembered for that instead.
Every exchange moves your standing with that faction — gains are capped, so it can't be farmed. Warm standing gets you waved through and cleared fast. Cold standing gets you challenged — and denied at the dock.
!dock at any hub and traffic control assigns you a real pad with a 10-minute window: Port Authority at the Port, Petram Control at the Redoubt, DIG Dispatch at the Exchange, the Wake at the Anchorage. !depart releases your pad early. The Anchorage asks no questions.
In GDC Protected Space, the sky answers trouble. Weapons fire over Earth — or one call, !911 (or !mayday) — and Port Authority scrambles a quick-reaction wing to the fight, announced on comms as it launches and standing down when the sky is clear. And the Coalition does not leave a mayday answered by wreckage: if the wing is lost, a heavier response launches — bigger hulls, same callsign, one escalation deep. One limit every pilot should know: the wing flies orbit and cannot enter a gravity well — trouble on a planet's surface is yours to climb out of first. Out in the frontier, you're on your own. Over Earth, help shows up.
Type !tx247 pvp on in chat to flag up: you're fair game — and free to engage other flagged pilots — anywhere outside Protected Space. !tx247 pvp off stands you down, and firing on an unflagged pilot is a crime in any sky. Your flag locks while your combat timer runs — five minutes after your last fight, there's no flagging down to escape. In GDC Protected Space no fire is lawful at all, flag or no flag. Crimes cost standing and post a bounty on your head — 5M SC, stacking to 25M — and a Protected-Space crime earns a warrant: GDC turns hostile until it's served or expires. And crimes mark you: every bounty raises your wanted stars, and stars don't fade with time. Run from a response — warp out, burn for deep space, outlast the wing — and the escape goes on your record next to them. A wanted name stays on the board, called out by name entering Protected Space, until the tab is settled: a hunter collects the bounty, or you pay the fine yourself with !tx247 payfine and fly clean again. Short of settling, there is exactly one way off the board: go dark for fourteen straight days with the fine unpaid, and the Coalition writes the debt off — bounty and fine cleared, your name off the board. But the record of how you ran is kept: escapes never come off your file. !tx247 who shows who's flagged; !tx247 bounties shows the board.
Quantum Hangar is gone. Use the vanilla Services Terminal: store a whole ship offsite — it stops counting against PCU — and pull it back out at any Services Terminal.
It's built into the game, so it's console-safe by design, and a stored grid keeps its ownership. Park the fleet, keep the sky clear.
Activity in the community climbs the naval ladder:
Website accounts are Discord accounts — linking opens at relaunch; your server rank, faction and donor tier come with you.
No new password, no new profile to keep up. Hit Login with Discord, approve the sign-in, and the site knows who you are in the Coalition.
Your rank on the ladder, your faction, your donor tier and your Sponsor status are read straight from your roles in the TX247 Discord and shown on your account page.
Accounts are Discord accounts — join the server first, earn your roles there, then link. Everything on this site keys off the same identity you fly with in game.
Officers get one manifest: the crew roster lists every linked member with their rank, faction and tier — no spreadsheet archaeology.
Yes — the server runs crossplay on EOS with a three-planet world (the console limit), data-only mods, and no client-side scripts. Join via the E (EOS) server list. See "Getting in" above.
No. The 14 mods download automatically from mod.io the first time you join. Updates arrive the same way.
By law — TX247 law. Uranium and platinum spawn only on Europa so the endgame runs through the contested front: freight, escorts, trade and war all flow from that one rule. DIG sells the full mined catalog if you'd rather pay than fight.
Apex Survival food & farming are enabled. Grow food at your base, carry meals on long hauls, or trade — DIG crews make good grocers.
Through supporter commissions and packs on the Support and Ships pages. For now, support runs through Discord tickets and staff fulfill by hand; your thank-you gifts are delivered in game.
Already live: the TX247 Director's Living Sky — NPC radio chatter, hail & announce replies, standing memory, docking control, Distress Response over Earth (with escalation — a lost wing is answered by a heavier one), the full Rules of Engagement (PvP flags, bounties and warrants), the Outlaw system (wanted stars, escape records, fines), MailBox claim in game with !tx247 claim, and TX247's own faction fleets flying MES. Still in development, no dates promised: faction war events, MailBox Terminal blocks, and the GDC Port of Authority hub station.
